Hello, I’m Jesse 👋

I’ve spent the last two decades writing software and technical content while serving in leadership and senior engineering roles across the military, government, and private industry. Most of that work has involved problems that demand first-principles thinking; reasoning about systems and their constraints in problem spaces that aren’t well trodden is where I do my best work.

As our profession continues to evolve, I think and write about what that means for the next generation of software engineers, their teams, and the company they keep–as well as the companies that both keep and let them go.

My background includes senior leadership on Product and DevRel teams alongside individual contributor work in software engineering, technical writing, and intelligence analysis.
